User Roles & Permissions


Roles

  • SYS_ADMIN — full control over everything
  • ADMIN — manages content and users, but can’t touch payments or override others’ work
  • EDITOR — creates and edits content only
  • Regular students have no role

Permissions

Content (Dockets, MCQs, Blocks, AI Prompts, Audio Sessions)

All three roles can create, edit, and delete content.

Tags and Taxonomy

ADMIN and SYS_ADMIN only. Editors cannot touch tags or taxonomy.

Comments

  • Everyone can create, edit, and delete their own comments
  • ADMIN and SYS_ADMIN can resolve or reopen comments
  • SYS_ADMIN can edit or delete anyone else’s comment

Users

  • ADMIN and SYS_ADMIN can look up users
  • SYS_ADMIN only can change a user’s role

Payments and Refunds

SYS_ADMIN only. No one else can process refunds or retry payment fulfillment.


Scope

These roles only apply to the internal admin panel. The student-facing mobile and web apps have no roles.

Roles are held at the user level, not per course. A user’s role applies across all courses, not within one.
